Teeth Whitening

A bright, white smile speaks volumes about you. It identifies you as a vibrant, happy, healthy person and makes other people want to smile along with you.

If your smile isn’t looking so bright these days, you might be feeling self-conscious about it. You may have started covering your mouth with your hand, smiling with your lips closed, or even stopped smiling altogether.

We have a solution.

Professional teeth whitening can remove stains and improve the color of your teeth quickly, safely, and comfortably and give you back a smile that you want to show off.

Why Is My Smile Discolored?

Yellow or gray discolorations of the teeth can be caused by a number of factors. Foods are often a common culprit. Curry, chocolate, and certain drinks like coffee, tea, and red wine tend to stain teeth when they are frequently consumed. Smoking is also an obvious culprit and leaves yellow and brown stains on the teeth.

Lesser-known culprits in tooth discoloration include certain antibiotics. Even genetics plays a role in the color of your teeth. As we get older, our teeth tend to become more yellow on their own as well.

Whatever the reason for your discolored teeth, you don’t have to put up with it.

How Does Professional Teeth Whitening Work?

Professional teeth whitening systems are completely customizable to fit your mouth and your lifestyle. The kit contains whitening trays (that are created from a mold of your mouth) and a gel bleaching product in a strength chosen specifically for you. You are able to whiten your teeth in the comfort and privacy of your own home at a time that’s convenient for you. You will see remarkable results in as little as two weeks.

The process starts when you call our office to schedule your consultation with Dr. Reber. The two of you will discuss your whitening goals, and he will perform an examination to make sure that your teeth are healthy and that teeth whitening is right for you. Don’t worry if you have sensitive teeth – professional teeth whitening kits contain a desensitizing ingredient so that you can whiten your teeth comfortably for the full recommended time.

We’ll take molds to create your trays. These custom trays are the key to successful teeth whitening. They make sure that the gel comes into contact with all the surfaces of your teeth and that it stays there and doesn’t bleed over onto your gums or other soft tissues in your mouth where it can be irritating.

When your trays are ready, we’ll walk you through the whitening process and then you’ll be sent home with your kit. After your treatment is complete, you’ll return to our office so we can check your results, discuss whether you would like to continue whitening, and set up a plan for maintenance.
